Exhaust Manifold Removal Typical


    Object Number: 1230393  Size: SH

    Caution: In order to avoid being burned, do not service the exhaust system while it is still hot. Service the system when it is cool.

  1. Remove the air filter, resonator, and snorkel assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the ignition wires from the spark plugs (1).
  3. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector (2).

  5. Remove the front exhaust pipe nuts (1).
  6. Remove the gasket and the front exhaust pipe (2) from the exhaust manifold.

  7. Object Number: 1230396  Size: SH
  8. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts (1).
  9. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (2).
  10. Remove the exhaust manifold nuts and bolts (3).
  11. Remove the exhaust manifold (4).
  12. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket (5).
  13. Inspect the gasket for crack and damage.

  3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.

  5. Remove the exhaust pipe from the pup-up catalytic converter.

  6. Object Number: 1202134  Size: SH
  7. Remove the exhaust manifold with the pup-up catalytic converter.

  8. Object Number: 1202724  Size: SH
  9. Remove the exhaust manifold from the pup-up catalytic converter.
