Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1225058 Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner/resonator assembly and air intake tube. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

    3. Object Number: 1225026 Size: SH
  3. Open the throttle valve (3).
  4. Disconnect the throttle cable (2), the throttle position sensor (4), and the idle air control valve connectors (1).

    5. Object Number: 1224976 Size: SH
  5. Loosen the clamps from the coolant hoses (1).
  6. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body (2).
  7. Disconnect the vacuum hoses (3).

    8. Object Number: 1225001 Size: SH
  8. Remove the throttle body bolts (1).
  9. Remove the throttle body (2) from the intake manifold.
  10. Discard the throttle body gasket (3).
  11. Inspect the throttle body gasket for the deformation and the damages.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1225043 Size: SH

    Important: Make sure the throttle control cable does not hold the throttle open. With the engine OFF, check to see that the accelerator pedal is free.

  1. Install the throttle body with the bolts.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the throttle body bolts to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).

  2. Connect the vacuum hoses (3).
  3. Connect the coolant hoses to the throttle body (2).
  4. Tighten the coolant hose clamps.

    5. Object Number: 1225026 Size: SH
  5. Connect the throttle position connector (4).
  6. Connect the idle air control valve connector (1).
  7. Connect the throttle cable (2).
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  9. Install the air cleaner/resonator assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
