Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1223139 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine oil temperature sensor to disconnect the harness connector (2).
  3. Remove the starter solenoid nut to disconnect the electrical cable (1).
  4. Remove the harness clip bolt to disconnect the harness clip (4).
  5. Remove the ground bolt (3).
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector and clip around the starter.

  7. Remove the starter mounting bolts (2).
  8. Remove the starter assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1223141 Size: SH
  1. Install the starter mounting bolts (1).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 55-65 N·m (41-48 lb ft).

  2. Install the starter solenoid nut (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).

  3. Install the harness clip bolt (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).

  4. Install and tighten the ground bolt (3).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 35-41 N·m (26-30 lb ft).

  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
