Tools Required

J 35566 Boot Clamp Pliers

1. Remove the drive axle. Refer to Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement .
2. Use J 35566  (2) to remove the large boot clamp (1).
3. Remove the small boot clamp (3).



4. Remove the joint housing (2) from the boot (1).



5. Degrease the joint assembly.
6. Remove the circlip (1).
7. Remove the tripot joint (2).



8. Remove the drive axle shaft boot.

1. Install the drive axle shaft boot.



2. Install the tripot joint (2) and circlip (1).

Notice: Always use the recommended grease. If not, the joint and boot can be damaged.

3. Fill the joint housing with the recommended grease when installing.

Capacity
Grease capacity equals 90-100 g (3.2-3.5 oz).




4. Install the joint housing (2) to the boot (1).



5. Install the small boot clamp (3).
6. Use J 35566 to install the large boot clamp (1).
7. Install the drive axle. Refer to Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement .

1. Inspect the operation of the joint.
2. Inspect for a leaking boot through the clamp side.
