Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1618464 Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the evaporator core pipe connector block retaining nuts.

    4. Object Number: 1618468 Size: SH
  4. Remove the expansion valve connector block retaining stud bolts.
  5. Remove the expansion valve.

    6. Object Number: 1618466 Size: SH
  6. Discard the O-ring.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1618468 Size: SH
  1. Clean the O-ring surface area of dirt or contamination.
  2. Install the new O-ring on the evaporator pipe.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the expansion valve stud bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the expansion valve stud bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  4. Install the evaporator pipe connecting block retaining nut.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the evaporator pipe connecting block retaining nut to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
