🢒 Stabilizer Shaft Replacement
Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to
Engine Protection Shield Replacement
.
Remove the front under longitudinal frame bolts (1, 2).
Remove the stabilizer shaft mounting bolts (2).
Remove the stabilizer shaft mounting nuts (1).
Remove the front under longitudinal frames.
Remove the cotter pins (1).
Remove the castellated nuts (2).
Remove the washers (3).
Remove the rear bushings (4) by separating the stabilizer shaft from the control arms.
Remove the stabilizer shaft from the vehicle.
Remove the bushings (1).
Remove the washers.
Remove the mountings (2).
Installation Procedure
Install the mountings (2) to the stabilizer shaft.
Install the washers.
Install the bushings (1).
Install the stabilizer shaft to the vehicle.
Install the rear bushings (4) to the stabilizer shaft.
Install the washers (3).
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the castellated nuts (2) and tighten to
45 N·m (33 lb ft)
.
Install the cotter pins (1).
Install the front under longitudinal frames to the vehicle.
Install the stabilizer shaft mounting nuts (1) and tighten to
40 N·m (30 lb ft)
.
Install the stabilizer shaft mounting bolts (2) and tighten to
40 N·m (30 lb ft)
.
Install the front under longitudinal frame bolts (1, 2) and tighten to
70 N·m (52 lb in)
.
Install the engine protection shield. Refer to
Engine Protection Shield Replacement
.
Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Lower the vehicle.
