Removal Procedure
- Relieve the fuel system pressure after removing the fuel pump assembly. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief.
- Remove the retainer from the fuel pump assembly (1).
- Remove the fuel pressure regulator (2) from the fuel pump.
- Check the O-ring seals for damage or a rip.
- Use a vacuum gage to check the diaphragm for damage and the spring for operation.
Caution: Refer to Fuel Pressure Caution in the Preface section.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fuel pressure regulator (2).
- Install the retainer to the fuel pump assembly (1).
- Install the fuel pump assembly.
Note: Do not reuse the removed O-ring seals. Replace the removed O-ring seals with the new ones.
