Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Relieving Fuel Pressure Warning in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Fuel Pressure Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1225053 Size: SH
  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure after remove the fuel pump assembly. Refer to Fuel Pump Replacement.
  2. Remove the retainer from the fuel pump assembly (2).
  3. Remove the fuel pressure regulator (1) from the fuel pump.

    4. Object Number: 1225069 Size: SH
  4. Check the O-ring seals for the damage or the rip.
  5. Use a vacuum gage to check the diaphragm for damage and the spring for operation.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fuel Pressure Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1225054 Size: SH

    Note: Do not reuse the removed O-ring seals. Replace the removed O-ring seals with the new ones.

  1. Install the fuel pressure regulator.
  2. Install the retainer to the fuel pump assembly.
  3. Install the fuel pump assembly. Refer to Fuel Pump Replacement.
  4. Turn the ignition ON and inspect the fuel system for leaks.
