For 1990-2009 cars only
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the front wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Visually inspect the linings for minimum thickness and wear.
- Measure the thickness.
- If the thickness of the pads are less than the specification, replace the pads. Install the shoe and linings in axle sets only. Refer to Front Disc Brake Pads Replacement.
- Install the front wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Lower the vehicle.

Specification
The minimum thickness of the pad friction material and the backing plate is 8 mm (0.31 in).
