Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1282315  Size: SH
  1. Remove the wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  2. Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning in the Preface section.

  3. Remove the fitting (2) from the brake hose.
  4. Remove the E-ring retainer (3).
  5. Disconnect the brake hose mounting from the strut (1).
  6. Remove the coupling bolt (4).
  7. Plug the opening in the brake pipe and caliper to prevent fluid loss or contamination.
  8. Remove the brake hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1282316  Size: SH
  1. Install the brake hose.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Connect the brake lines to the brake hose (1). Tighten the brake pipe-to-hose fitting to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  4. Install the brake hose coupling bolt (2) and tighten to 25.5 N·m (19.1 lb ft).
  5. Note: Use only General Motors recommended brake fluid.

  6. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
  7. Inspect the brake system for leaks.
  8. Install the wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
