🢒 Parking Brake Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove the park brake lever. Refer to
Parking Brake Lever Replacement
.
Remove the cable pulley (1).
Loosen the adjustment nuts.
Remove the strengthener (2).
Remove the cable grommet.
Remove the rear brake drum assembly. Refer to
Brake Drum Replacement
.
Remove the clip (1) from the brake plate.
Disconnect the park brake cable from the trailing shoe.
Remove the right rear clamp bolts (1) fastening the brake cable.
Remove the fuel filter. If the vehicle has the 0.8L engine, refer to
Fuel Filter Replacement
. If the vehicle has the 1.0L engine, refer to
Fuel Filter Replacement
.
Remove the left rear clamp bolts (1) fastening the brake cable.
Remove the park brake cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the park brake cable with the right rear clamp bolts and the left rear clamp bolts (1). Tighten the park brake cable clamp bolts to
10 N·m (89 lb in)
.
Install the fuel filter. If the vehicle has the 0.8L engine, refer to
Fuel Filter Replacement
. If the vehicle has the 1.0L engine, refer to
Fuel Filter Replacement
.
Connect the park brake cable to the rear brake drum assembly.
Install the rear brake drum assembly. Refer to
Brake Drum Replacement
.
Install the grommet and the strengthener.
Install the cable pulley with the adjustment nuts (1) and tighten the nuts to
10 N·m (89 lb in)
.
Install the park brake lever. Refer to
Parking Brake Lever Replacement
.
