Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
- Remove the compressor A/C hoses connector block fitting nut.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the under cover.
- Remove the A/C belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement.
- Remove the compressor to bracket upper mounting bolt.
- Remove the compressor to bracket lower mounting bolts.
- Remove the compressor.
Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.
Installation Procedure
- Install the compressor.
- Install the compressor to bracket lower mounting bolts and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
- Install the compressor to bracket upper mounting bolt and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Install the under cover. Tighten the A/C high pressure pipe line bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector at the compressor. Tighten the A/C low pressure pipe line bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
- Install the A/C refrigerant suction hose and A/C refrigerant discharge hose to connector block retaining bolts.
- Install the A/C belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
| • | Tighten the A/C refrigerant suction hose to connector block retaining bolt to 22.5 N·m (16.5 lb ft). |
| • | Tighten the A/C refrigerant discharge hose to connector block retaining bolt 22.5 N·m (16.5 lb ft). |
