DEFINITION: The status of the security indicator never changes and the security indicator never illuminates.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the RCDLR/Theft Deterrent Control Module and the Immobilizer module.
  3. Connect a test light between the security indicator control circuit and B+.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the security indicator ON?

Go to Step 6

Test the security indicator control circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Test the security indicator ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Testing for Continuity and Wiring Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Replace the security indicator.

Did you complete the replacement?

Test for a poor connection at the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) and Immobilizer. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs.

Replace the faulty module.
