Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1223139 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine oil temperature sensor to disconnect the harness connector (2).
  3. Remove the starter solenoid nut to disconnect the electrical cable (1).
  4. Remove the harness clip bolt to disconnect the harness clip (4).
  5. Remove the ground bolt (3).
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector and clip around the starter.

  7. Remove the starter mounting bolts (2).
  8. Remove the starter assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1223141 Size: SH
  1. Install the starter mounting bolts (1) and tighten to 55-65 N·m (41-48 lb ft).
  2. Install the starter solenoid nut (2) and tighten to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).
  3. Install the harness clip bolt (2) and tighten to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).
  4. Install and tighten the ground bolt (3) and tighten to 35-41 N·m (26-30 lb ft).
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
