Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the floor air outlet.
  2. Roll the instrument panel back. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the defroster valve vacuum actuator.

  4. Object Number: 282372  Size: SH
  5. Remove the windshield defroster nozzle nuts.
  6. Remove the windshield defroster nozzle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 282372  Size: SH
  1. Install the windshield defroster nozzle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the windshield defroster nozzle nuts into the vehicle.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the windshield defroster nozzle nuts to 4.5 N·m (40 lb in).

  5. Install the defroster valve vacuum actuator.
  6. Roll the instrument panel forward. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel Gauges and Console.
  7. Install the floor air outlet.
