  1. With the ignition OFF and the engine cold, disconnect the connector at the coolant temperature sender.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the coolant temperature sender connector cavity A and ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.

Does the temperature gauge indicate that the engine is hot?

Replace the coolant temperature sender.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Locate and repair the open in the CKT 35 (DK GRN) wire between the coolant temperature sender and the instrument cluster.
  2. If the wire is good, replace the instrument cluster.
