Air Cleaner Assembly

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 18389  Size: SH
  1. Remove the duct assembly.

  2. Object Number: 18390  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt.

  4. Object Number: 18391  Size: SH
  5. Remove the air intake duct.
  6. To release air intake duct from the front fender, depress the 2 ears inward.

  7. Remove the air cleaner assembly with the bracket.
  8. Pivot the air cleaner in an upward direction to release the top barb on the intake duct.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 18391  Size: SH
  1. Install the air cleaner assembly with the bracket.
  2. Install the air intake duct.

  3. Object Number: 18390  Size: SH
  4. Install the bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the duct assembly.

Air Cleaner Adapter / Resonator

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 18379  Size: SH
  1. Remove the wingnut.

  2. Object Number: 18381  Size: SH
  3. Remove the adapter / resonator assembly.
  4. Pull and twist up on the front of the adapter to release the adapter / resonator assembly from the throttle body.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 18381  Size: SH
  1. Install the adapter/resonator assembly.

  2. Object Number: 18379  Size: SH
  3. Install the wingnut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the wingnut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

Air Cleaner Resonator and Duct Assembly

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 18396  Size: SH
  1. Remove the nut.
  2. Loosen the duct resonator clamp.
  3. Remove the resonator.

  4. Object Number: 18400  Size: SH
  5. Loosen the duct assembly clamps.
  6. Remove the duct assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 18400  Size: SH
  1. Install the duct assembly.
  2. Tighten the duct assembly clamps.

  3. Object Number: 18396  Size: SH
  4. Install the resonator.
  5. Tighten the duct resonator clamp.
  6. Install the nut.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (46 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Air Cleaner Air Intake Duct

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 18386  Size: SH
  1. Remove the retainer.
  2. Remove the screw.

  3. Object Number: 18387  Size: SH
  4. Remove the air intake duct

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 18387  Size: SH
  1. Install the air intake duct.

  2. Object Number: 18386  Size: SH
  3. Install the screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw 2 N·m (18 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   5. Install the retainer.
