Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 401885 Size: SH
  1. Remove the right front fender wheelhouse inner panel (1).
  2. Remove the wiring harness clips from the inner panel.
  3. Remove the oil level indicator.
  4. Remove the right exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side in Engine Exhaust.
  5. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.

  6. Remove the heater outlet hose bracket nut (1) and bolt (2).

    7. Object Number: 660377 Size: SH
  7. Remove the bolt for the fuel injection control module bracket that holds the oil level indicator tube.
  8. Remove the oil level indicator tube with the 2 O-rings from the engine.
  9. Remove and discard the 2 O-rings.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 660377 Size: SH
  1. Install 2 NEW O-rings on the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Lightly lubricate the O-rings with engine oil.
  3. Install the oil level indicator tube to the engine.
  4. Install the right exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side in Engine Exhaust.

    5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the bolt holding the oil level indicator tube and the fuel injection control module bracket.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil level indicator tube bolt to 21 N·m (15 lb ft).

  6. Install the oil level indicator.

  7. Install the heater outlet hose bracket nut (1) and bolt (2).

    8. Tighten

        • Tighten the hose bracket nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
        • Tighten the hose bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  9. Install the wiring harness clips to the inner panel.
  10. Install the right front fender wheelhouse inner panel (1).
