When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

SERVICE VME

Some 2003 C/K models equipped with an outside temperature display, which is part of the inside rearview mirror assembly, may exhibit the following concerns:

  1. When the outside temperature reads are in the 70's, the 1st digit reads as a backwards "F".
  2. When outside temperature reads are in the 40's, the 1st digit reads as a "9".
  3. All outside temperature segments are lit.

To correct this concern replace the inside rearview mirror assembly. The supplier has corrected this concern as of Oct. 24, 2002.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
