The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
When replacing the brake pedal assembly on vehicles equipped with adjustable pedals, RPO JF4, it is necessary to cut the I/P reinforcement brace studs closest to the I/P carrier. A replacement bracket, studs, and nuts must be obtained to reassembly the vehicle.
Note: Do not replace the complete brake pedal assembly for a DTC B3606, if diagnostics lead to a brake pedal position sensor. Please follow bulletin 05-08-143-001 for replacing the sensor only.

This service kit is available from GMSPO as part number 89039805. This part will fit most application, but please have the parts department verify this is the correct part number for your vehicle.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
