The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may state that the vehicle chime is excessively louder in the normal and loud settings after the navigation radio was replaced for a service issue.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If you receive one of the following GM part numbers: 10377287 or 15229287, and the chime volume is excessively loud, obtain one of the radios listed below:

Chevrolet Avalanche, Tahoe, Suburban, and GMC Yukon, Yukon XL use part number: 15800000

Hummer H2 models must first determine if the vehicle is equipped with a Class 2 or NON-Class 2 Bose Amplifier. This can easily be determined by using the Tech 2 to see if the amplifier is listed on the Class 2 message monitor. If the amplifier is listed on the message monitor then it is a Class 2 amplifier and no action is needed. If it is not listed on the message monitor then the amplifier is a NON-Class 2 and use part number 15800000.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
