The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
During PDI perform the following procedure:
-Manually cycle both mirror heads fully forward and rearward 10 times.
-While cycling the mirror head listen for any audible cracking noise.
-After 10 cycles are complete inspect the mirror base for excessive movement.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If NO audible cracking was heard and NO excessive movement at the mirror base is found, then NO further inspection/repairs are needed.
If audible cracking was heard and/or excessive movement at the mirror base, then replace the mirror assembly.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
