Service Update for Inventory Vehicles Only-Alternative Fueled Vehicles Buyers Guide Label Incorrect

THIS SERVICE UPDATE INVOLVES VEHICLES IN DEALER INVENTORY ONLY AND WILL EXPIRE DECEMBER 31, 2008.

This bulletin provides a service procedure to install a corrected Alternative Fueled Vehicle Buyers Guide label on certain 2009 model year Chevrolet HHR, Suburban, Tahoe; Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV; GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles. The estimated cruising range on these vehicles incorrectly indicates that the use of alternative fuel (E85) provides a greater cruising range than gasoline.

This service procedure should be completed on involved vehicles currently in dealership inventory as soon as possible but no later than December 31, 2008, at which time this bulletin will expire.

A list of involved vehicles currently in dealer inventory is available in Global Connect Message G_0000011870 .

Important: Dealers are to confirm vehicle eligibility prior to beginning repairs by using the GM Vehicle Inquiry System (GMVIS). Not all vehicles within the above breakpoints may be involved.

Labels required for this update are being provided to dealers at no charge and will be shipped the week of September 29, 2008. Additional labels, if needed, are to be obtained from the DWD Store through the DealerWorld website at www.gmdealerworld.com, and then clicking on the DWD Store link. Be sure to request the appropriate label number for service update 08262. Do NOT order labels from GMSPO.

1. Remove the Alternative Fueled Vehicle Buyers Guide from the vehicle’s window.
2. Install the appropriate new Alternative Fueled Vehicle Buyers Guide on the window.
