Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 2008728  Size: SH
  1. Remove the HVAC module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
  2. If equipped remove the heat stakes (1) from the HVAC module (2) with a screwdriver and a hammer.

  3. Object Number: 962571  Size: SH
  4. If equipped remove the HVAC module assembly screws.
  5. Separate the HVAC module assembly.
  6. Remove the mode actuator screws.
  7. Remove the mode actuator.
  8. Remove the mode actuator cam assembly.
  9. Remove the defroster door (8).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 962571  Size: SH
  1. Install the defroster door (8).
  2. Install the mode actuator cam assembly.
  3. Install the mode actuator.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the mode actuator screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  7. Install the HVAC module assembly halves.
  8. Important: For every heat stake removed ensure that you install a screw.

  9. Install the screws to the HVAC module assembly.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  11. Install the HVAC module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
