The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Engineering is conducting an investigation on 8.6 rear differential ring and pinion gear sets that are replaced under warranty.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Please provide the axle code (prefix), build location, Julian date and serial number on the Repair Order whenever replacing a ring and pinion and using labor operation code F2383. See the attached photo for identification. The location of the stamping can be found either on the top or the front of the right axle tube.
