The negative and/or positive battery cable terminal has a unique T-bolt that tightens the terminal around the battery post. Over-tightening this bolt may cause the bolt to break. Because the battery cables are disconnected for many service procedures, there is an increased likelihood that these bolts may break.
Important: DO NOT REPLACE ENTIRE NEGATIVE AND/OR POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE(S).
Replace the T-Bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
