You may encounter a condition in which the sunroof will not close, especially using the "express close" function. The glass will typically close part way, then reverse to a partially open position.

Sometimes, small pieces of debris, including rocks, gum, small sticks or twigs can become lodged in the sunroof tracks. The sunroof function brakes are unable to travel over the debris, causing the sunroof glass to reverse to a partial open position.

The following diagnostic tips will assist in correcting this condition:

  1. Inspect the sunroof frame/tracks for damage. If none is evident, inspect the tracks for the type of debris described above. If debris is lodged in the tracks or track grease, remove the object, making sure that sufficient grease remains in the tracks for the system to operate.
  2. Open and close the sunroof using the express open/close function of the switch to determine if the debris was the cause of the reversal condition described above.

If there is any damage to the sunroof track, the frame must be replaced.
