GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of this condition. GM has a need to obtain information about the diagnosis and repair. Use the following procedure to diagnose and repair the vehicle. Note the information on the repair order as necessary.
• | Remove the running boards and test drive the vehicle to determine if the concern has been corrected. |
• | If the noise was eliminated or reduced, reinstall the running boards and proceed to step 4. |
• | If the noise is still present, reinstall the running boards and proceed to step 3. |
3.1. | Install the J 39570 - Chassis Ears to the frame rail at or near the body mounts. |
3.2. | Test drive the vehicle to identify which mount is suspect. |
3.3. | Measure the torque of the suspect mount(s). |
3.4. | Remove the suspect mount. Drive the vehicle and determine if the noise has been eliminated. |
