The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

As part of our ongoing quality improvement efforts, the (EBCM) Electronic Brake Control Module (Part # 25912635, 25912640, 25801031, 25801032, 25834221, 25834219) are being put on restriction through the PQC effective Tuesday 7/22/08. The restriction is to assist GM Engineering with product quality feedback.

Recommendation/Instructions:

To order the Electronic Brake Control Module (Part # 25912635, 25912640, 25801031, 25801032, 25834221, 25834219), please complete the questionnaire below and contact the PQC at 1-866-654-7654 to review your answers:

Is this vehicle a Full Size Truck or SUV or is it a crossover (Outlook, Acadia, Enclave, Traverse)?

 

If working on a crossover vehicle, call Partech to obtain/verify correct part number. Partech must match the entire VIN not just the last eight digits when ordering parts. Contact TAC if diagnostic assistance is needed.

 

Was the vehicle brought in for a performance related problem (ex. Noise, Brake Pedal Feel, and Unwanted Braking)? Y/N

 

Was the vehicle primarily brought in for a Non-Brake related issue; and you found an ABS related DTC code? Y/N

 

Customer Complaint:

 

Is the problem constant or intermittent?

 

Was the customers concern duplicated? Y/N

 

List all Current DTC(s):

 

List all History DTC(s):

 

Are the codes repeatable? Y/N

 

Is there any evidence of water intrusion in the EBCM?

 

What PIs / TSBs were performed? (List all)

 

SI Document ID# Used (If no trouble tree, PQC will provide case # and advise dlr to call back)

 

Document each step of the trouble chart. (Include all voltage measurements)

 

Were there any problems with the trouble tree and where it leads the Tech?

 

Calibration/Software ID# (Via Tech 2)

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
