The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Customer may comment that the vehicle will not start or the engine will not crank, technicians may find any one of or a combination of dtc's P215B, P0722, P16F2, P16F4, P0A2D, P0A33, P0A3F, P0A40, P0A45, P0A46, P1B03, P1B04.

Recommendation/Instructions:

The concern may be caused by loose pin terminals or backed out terminals at the transmission 24 way pass through connector X176, reference SI document #1985309 item #3 for connector location. Repair or replace terminals as necessary. If no loose terminals are found remove the transmission pan and inspect the internal harness for concerns such as chaffing or terminal concerns, if necessary replace the internal harness.

Transmissions built with the last 5 digits of the serial number prior to 03000 may be more prone to internal harness concerns including loose crimps at the terminals.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
