The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
You may experience a vehicle that has a history DTC: P1A88 set in the hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) when inspecting or performing a PDI on the vehicle. The code will be in history on all hybrids that currently leave the plant due to the way the plant DVT (Dynamic Vehicle Test) is performed. This test does not cause any drivability or diagnostic concerns and does not turn on the check engine lamp.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If you are working on a vehicle that has a current DTC: P1A88, please follow normal diagnosis in Service Information, otherwise clear the DTC and please do not replace any parts to resolve this concern.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
