The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some Customers may complain of a click or rattle type noise from the right front of the vehicle. The concern will be most noticeable under acceleration or when braking. The concern may be perceived as an internal concern with the Hybrid Control Module or Accessory DC Power Control Module (APM).
Please do not replace the Hybrid Control Module or Accessory DC Power Control Module (APM) to resolve this concern. The concern may be caused by the rear heater lines rubbing together at the AC accumulator and creating a click or rattle type noise. Please see photo below.
To properly inspect the heater lines, you will need to remove the right side inner wheel well. To isolate the lines, use a piece of heater hose and plastic tie strap to secure the hose between the lines in both areas in the above photo.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
