Removal Procedure
Important: When replacing a speedometer or an odometer assembly, the law requires
the odometer reading of the replacement unit to be set to register the same
mileage as the previous odometer. If the same mileage cannot be set, then
the law requires that the following actions take place:
• | Set the replacement odometer to zero. |
• | Install a label on the driver's side door frame showing the following
information: |
• | The previous odometer reading |
• | The date of replacement |
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect
the negative battery cable.
- Remove the instrument cluster assembly from the instrument panel.

- Remove the instrument cluster lens (7)
and bezel (6) assembly from the instrument cluster housing (3)
by releasing the 8 black plastic tabs.
- Remove the 4 screws (2) and the
speedometer from the instrument cluster housing.
Installation Procedure
- Install the speedometer gauge to the instrument
cluster housing. Secure the gauge with the 4 screws (2).
- Install the instrument cluster lens (7)
and the bezel (6) to the instrument cluster housing (3).
- Install the instrument cluster assembly to the instrument panel.

- Connect the negative battery cable.
