Important:
• Replace all the old power steering pump O-rings seals with new
seals from the power steering pump seal kit. • Lubricate the internal parts with power steering gear and pump
fluid Dexron® -III Automatic Transmission Fluid GM P/N 12346143,
or the equivalent.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: Ensure that you can turn the shaft by hand after you install the rear pump cover (2).
Use 4 bolts in order to secure the rear pump cover (2) to the pump.
Tighten
Tighten the power steering pump rear cover/cam ring bolts to 24 N·m
(17.5 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the flow control valve assembly to 66 N·m (48 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the power steering pump pressure switch to 18 N·m
(13.5 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the power steering pump suction hose connector bolt to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
