Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the oil level indicator from the guide tube.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

  3. Object Number: 466472  Size: SH
  4. Remove the upper radiator hose (2) from the thermostat housing.

  5. Object Number: 465593  Size: SH
  6. Remove the four fan nuts (1).
  7. Remove the four radiator shroud fasteners.
  8. Important: Do not damage the radiator when removing the fan.

  9. Lean the shroud toward the engine.
  10. Detach the fan from the pulley hub and remove the shroud and fan together.

  12. Loosen the generator adjustment bolt (1).
  13. Remove the generator drive belt.
  14. Remove the coolant pump pulley.

  16. Remove the two bolts (2) from the cylinder block.

  18. Remove the guide tube (1) from the oil pump body.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 466381  Size: SH
  1. Coat the new guide tube seal (2) with engine oil.

  2. Object Number: 466386  Size: SH
  3. Install the guide tube into the oil pump body.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Secure the guide tube (1) to the cylinder block with two bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts (2) to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  7. Install the oil level indicator to the guide tube.

  9. Install the coolant pump pulley on to the coolant pump.
  10. Install the generator drive belt and the generator adjustment bolt (1).
  11. Important: Do not damage the radiator when installing the fan and fan shroud.


    Object Number: 465593  Size: SH
  12. Install the fan and the fan shroud together.
  13. Install the four radiator shroud fasteners.
  14. Install the four fan nuts (1).
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the fan nuts to 11 N·m (8 lb ft).

  16. Adjust the generator drive belt tension. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  18. Install the upper radiator hose (2) to the thermostat housing (1).
  19. Refill the cooling system as necessary. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
