Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 395809  Size: SH
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Remove the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) (4) and the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) (1) as an assembly from the lower BPMV bracket (3). Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement .
  3. Remove the three lower BPMV bracket nuts attaching the lower BPMV bracket (3) to the wheel housing.
  4. Remove the lower BPMV bracket (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower BPMV bracket (3) to the wheel house.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the three BPMV bracket nuts to the studs on the lower BPMV bracket (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the three BPMV bracket nuts to 10 N·m (7 lb ft).

  5. Install the BPMV and EBCM as an assembly to the lower BPMV bracket (3). Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement .
  6. Perform the Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed Procedure .
