Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 1999 🢒 Tracker - 2WD 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column - Standard 🢒 Inspections Required After an Accident
  1. Vehicles involved in accidents resulting in frame damage, sheet metal damage, steering column impact, or SIR deployment may also have a damaged or misaligned steering column.

    2. Inspect the following components for damage. Repair or replace as necessary. Refer to Steering Shaft Inspection .

    • The steering shaft
    • The steering shaft coupling
    • The lower steering shaft

  2. Inspect the following components for damage. Repair or replace as necessary.
    3. • The steering gear (2)
    • The power steering pump (1)
    • The power steering fluid reservoir (3)
    • The steering gear boots
    • The inner tie rods
    • The outer tie rods
    • The steering wheel
  3. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
  4. Inspect the steering column support bracket. Refer to Steering Column Support Bracket Inspection .
  5. If any components impacted the steering column, remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  6. Inspect the steering column jacket and the steering column lower seal. Measure the length of the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Jacket Inspection .
