Did you review the Radio/Audio System Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the radio illumination lamp does not dim with the IP dimmer switch.

Does the radio operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the radio connector. Refer to Radio Replacement for access.
  3. Disconnect the cigar lighter connector.
  4. Test for an open condition between cavity 3 of the radio connector and cavity 3 of the cigar lighter connector.

Is there an open condition in the RED/GRN wire?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

With the ignition switch still turned to OFF and the radio connector disconnected:

Test for an open condition between cavity 10 of the radio connector and cavity 1 of the cigar lighter connector.

Is there an open condition in the RED/YEL wire?

Go to Step 6

Repair the open condition in the RED/GRN wire between cavity 3 of the radio connector and S254. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open condition in the RED/YEL wire between cavity 10 of the radio connector and S253. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Replace the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
