Instrument Panel Assembly

The instrument panel mounts to the IP reinforcement.

The instrument panel covers the routing of the following components for appearance purposes:

    • The heating and air conditioning ducts and outlets
    • The electrical components
    • The wiring harness

The instrument panel can be removed from the vehicle as an assembly if the panel is being removed to access components beneath it. The following components would be examples:

    • The heating and air conditioning components
    • The air distribution ducts and outlets that are not accessible with the instrument panel in the vehicle
    • The wiring harness
    • The IP reinforcement

If the instrument panel is being removed to replace the panel, it is recommended that the components be removed prior to the instrument panel being removed from the vehicle.

Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement for the removal and installation procedure for whichever method is used.
