Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement 4 Door

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 488842  Size: SH
  1. Position the front seat all the way forward in order to gain the necessary clearance to remove the front seat belt lower anchor bolt (3).
  2. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor bolt (3).
  3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  4. 3.1. The 3 plastic retainers
    3.2. The rear side door sill trim plate
  5. Gently pry loose and remove the lower center pillar trim (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower center pillar trim (2) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the rear side door sill trim plate to the vehicle. Secure the trim plate with the 3 plastic retainers.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the front seat belt lower anchor bolt (3).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the front seat belt lower anchor bolt to 35 N·m (25 lb ft).

  6. Position the front seat rearward with the seat back upright.
