Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 478166  Size: SH
  1. Remove the folding top rear window in order to gain the necessary access to remove the rear compartment panel. Refer to Folding Top Rear Window Replacement in Roof.
  2. Remove the 2 bolts (2) and 2 mounting brackets (3) which secure the rear compartment panel (1).
  3. Remove the rear compartment panel (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the rear compartment panel (1) to the vehicle. Secure the panel with the 2 mounting brackets (3) and the 2 bolts (2).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment panel mounting bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the folding top rear window. Refer to Folding Top Rear Window Replacement in Roof.
