Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the spark plug wire of the faulty ignition coil from the spark plug.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty ignition coil.

  3. Object Number: 482356  Size: SH
  4. Remove the two bolts (1) that secure the ignition coil 1 (2) or the ignition coil 2 (3) to the valve cover.
  5. Remove the ignition coil 1 (2) or the ignition coil 2 (3) from the valve cover.

  6. Object Number: 441353  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the 1 cylinder spark plug wire (3) from the ignition coil (1) or the 2 cylinder spark plug wire (2) from the ignition coil (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the 1 cylinder spark plug wire (3) to the ignition coil (1) or the 2 cylinder spark plug wire (2) to the ignition coil (1).

  2. Object Number: 482356  Size: SH
  3. Install the ignition coil 1 (2) or the ignition coil 2 (3) to the valve cover.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Secure the ignition coil 1 (2) or the ignition coil 2 (3) to the valve cover with the two bolts (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil attaching bolts (1) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connector to the ignition coil.
  8. Connect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
