Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 466103  Size: SH
  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the fuel injector (2) .
  3. Remove the hold down bracket at the rear of the intake manifold.

  4. Object Number: 466109  Size: SH
  5. Remove the hold down bracket bolts (1) from the intake manifold .
  6. Remove the bracket (2).

  7. Object Number: 466113  Size: SH
  8. Remove the high pressure and return hoses (2) from the fuel pipes.
  9. Remove the hold down bracket bolt (1) for the fuel pipes (2) .

  10. Object Number: 466117  Size: SH
  11. Remove the 3 retaining bolts (1) for the fuel rail (3) .
  12. Remove the fuel rail .
  13. Remove the fuel injectors (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 466117  Size: SH
  1. Apply a thin coat of motor oil to the fuel injectors O-rings.
  2. Install the fuel injectors (2) to the fuel rail (3).
  3. Install the fuel rail (3) to the intake manifold.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the 3 retaining bolts (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the fuel pipes (2) hold down bolt (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  9. Install the intake manifold reinforcement bracket (2).
  10. Install both retaining bolts (1).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  12. Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the fuel injectors (2) .
  13. Install the scan tool.
  14. Turn ON the ignition, leaving the engine OFF.
  15. Turn ON the fuel pump with the scan tool.
  16. Check for leaks and repair as necessary.
