Notice: Refer to Filling the Master Cylinder Notice in the Preface section.

Important: Flush the hydraulic brake system under the following conditions:

   • The DOT rating of the brake fluid is incorrect.
   • The brake fluid contains water or mineral oil.
   • The rubber brake components are swollen, indicating contamination of the brake fluid.

  1. Replace all damaged rubber brake components.
  2. Use 0.94 liter (1 quart) of Delco Supreme 11® Brake Fluid, GM P/N 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667), or equivalent DOT 3 brake fluid, in order to flush the hydraulic brake system.
  3. Use the Manual Bleeding Procedure in order to flush the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
