Removal Procedure
- Remove the windshield wiper arm nut cover from the windshield wiper arm.
- Remove the windshield wiper arm nut which secures the windshield wiper arm (2).
- Remove the windshield wiper arm (2) from the windshield wiper motor linkage (3).
Important: Before you remove the windshield wiper arm (2), mark the location of the arm in order to ease the installation process.
Installation Procedure
- Install the windshield wiper arm (2) to the windshield wiper motor linkage (3) by using the mark made as a guide. Secure the wiper arm with the retaining nut.
- Install the windshield wiper arm nut cover to the windshield wiper arm.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the windshield wiper arm retaining nut to 20 N·m
(15 lb ft).
