    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the oil pump to the lower crankcase with the 3 bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the 3 bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  3. If removed, install the oil pump chain guide (1). The chain tension will have to be adjusted if the guide is removed or if the chain is replaced. Install the 2 nuts finger tight.
  4. Insert a 0.5 mm (0.020 in) feeler gauge (3) between the chain and the chain guide.
  5. Adjust the chain tension by holding the chain guide against the chain with a force of 20-30 Newtons (4.4-6.6 lb).
  6. Tighten the nuts while holding this tension.

  8. Install the oil pump drive chain cover (1) with the 4 bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the 4 bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  10. Install new O-rings and install the oil pump strainer to the oil pump.
  11. Install and tighten the 2 strainer bolts first and then the bracket bolt.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the 3 bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
