Did you review the Instrument Cluster Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Instrument Panel, Gages and Console

Verify that the instrument cluster gages are inoperative.

Do the gages operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector C1.
  2. Test for an open condition between cavity 14 and a good ground.

Does an open condition exist?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in the BLK/WHT wire between the instrument cluster and the junction block C4 cavity 1.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector C3.
  2. Test for a open condition between cavity 2 and G103.

Does an open condition exist?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair the short in the BLK/YEL wire between the instrument cluster and G103.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Inspect the instrument cluster for any damage to the cluster or printed circuit.

Is there any damage to the instrument cluster or printed circuit?

Go to Step 8

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Repair or replace the instrument cluster or printed circuit.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
