Did you review the Audible Warning Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the chime is inoperative.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the audio alarm module connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Connect a test lamp from the audio alarm module connector cavity 7 to B+.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the junction block connector C4 from cavity 16 to B+.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

With the audio alarm module still disconnected and the ignition switch turned to ON, connect a test lamp from cavity 5 of the audio alarm module to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 8

  1. Inspect for a poor ground connection at the junction block.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the junction block.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open in the BLK wire between the junction block and the audio alarm module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 10

Repair the open BLK/WHT wire between cavity 5 of the audio alarm module connector and junction block Connector C4 cavity 3. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Replace the audio alarm module. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
