Verify that the engine oil indicator is inoperative.

Does the engine oil indicator operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.

Does the oil pressure indicator remain lit?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to ground in the YEL/BLK wire or the instrument panel cluster printed circuit.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 7

Test the oil pressure with a mechanical gage.

Is the oil pressure normal?

Go to Step 6

Go to Oil Pressure Diagnosis and Testing in Engine Mechanical - 2.0L

Replace the oil pressure switch.

Did you complete the repair?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
