Removal Procedure
- Remove the cruise control module cover (1).
- Loosen the cruise control servo cable locknut (5).
- Remove the cruise control servo cable (3) from the cruise control servo assembly (1).
- Remove the cruise control servo cable (3) from the cruise control servo cable retainers (5).
- Remove the cruise control servo cable from the accelerator pedal (1).
- Unclip the retainer (2) and grommet (4) which secure the cruise control servo cable from underneath the instrument panel.
- Remove the cruise control servo cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the cruise control servo cable to the vehicle. Secure the cable with the retainer (2) and the grommet (4).
- Install the cruise control servo cable to the accelerator pedal (1).
- Install the cruise control servo cable (3) to the cruise control servo cable retainers (5).
- Install the cruise control servo cable (3) to the cruise control servo assembly (1).
- Adjust the cruise control servo cable locknut (5) in order to adjust the cruise control cable play.
- Adjust the cruise control servo cable play to 1-2 mm (0.04-0.08 in) at the servo closed throttle position.
- Install the cruise control module cover (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the cruise control servo cable locknut to 5 N·m
(44 lb in).
